Featured Courses

For your first-year elective, you can choose from an array of courses that include environmental law and policy, environmental crimes, climate change law, and legislation and regulation. 

Those classes also are offered to second and third year students, along with administrative law, natural resources law, international environmental law, environmental justice, sustainability and international trade, federal Indian law, Great Lakes law, and seminars on clean energy law, advanced environmental law, and environmental litigation. With almost two dozen courses, Michigan Law has one of the most robust curriculums among top law schools.

At Michigan, you will benefit from being part of a great research university dedicated to interdisciplinary scholarship. You can earn up to 12 credits toward your JD, or earn a dual degree, through environmental courses in one or more of the University of Michigan’s elite graduate programs, including the new School for Environment and Sustainability, the Ross School of Business, the Ford School of Public Policy, the Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning, and the School of Public Health. All are within easy walking distance of the law quad.
