My Time at Michigan Law
My Favorite Class
International Trade Law with Professor Julian Arato. Although I had taken several courses about WTO law in China, Professor Arato’s course allowed me to look at international trade law from a different perspective and gain a deeper understanding of the rules and the methods of analysis.
Professor Howson’s Enterprise Organization was awesome too. His class was lively and engaging. He provided useful charts that effectively summarized key concepts and cases.
What Surprised Me Most About Michigan Law
Students here are very hardworking and active in class. All the professors are approachable by interacting with students and patiently answering questions about academics and life. There are plenty of activities to interact and network with renowned judges and legal practitioners.
The Most Difficult Thing About the LLM Year
Time management and balance. There are many courses in a semester, and I spent a lot of time preparing and reviewing. Throughout the year I have been searching for a balance between my studies, life, and fun.
The Best Things About Ann Arbor
Safety, for sure. People are very nice here. Even when I returned from traveling late at night, I felt at ease and safe!
If I Could Time Travel, I Would Give Myself This Advice at the Start of My LLM Year
Don’t put too much pressure on myself and enjoy the time here. Explore various learning resources and take full advantage of the social opportunities offered by Michigan Law.
