About Me

Name

Philipp Krämer

Prior Education

Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (Erste Juristische Prüfung, 2021)

Before Ann Arbor

I lived in Munich, Germany.

Before My LLM Year

I finished my legal clerkship and qualified as a lawyer in Germany.

What Sets Me Apart

I like cold weather, and I got excited about the snow and winter in Ann Arbor!

My Time at Michigan Law

Why I Chose Michigan Law

It has a great reputation, and I loved the idea of living in the Lawyers Club, right where all my classes would be.

The Most Difficult Thing About the LLM Year

Keeping up with the reading for each class.

What Surprised Me Most About Michigan Law

I didn’t expect the professors to be so approachable. They are really helpful and always available to chat about class, jobs, or life.

What Makes Michigan Law Special

The Law School community is amazing, and everyone seems very happy to study here. You will make great friends with both JD and LLM students and really get to know everyone from the LLM class due to its small size.

My Favorite Class

Securities Regulation. The class is tough, but Professor Nico Howson is very entertaining.

The Best Thing About Ann Arbor

Game Day! Everyone wears maize and blue, and the whole city gets into the team spirit.

If I Could Time Travel, I Would Give Myself This Advice at the Start of My LLM Year

Get football season tickets. It’s a big part of the fun here.

Fun Stuff

When I’m Not Studying

I’m hanging out with friends, taking a walk, or trying to solve the New York Times Wordle (apparently every law student’s favorite game).

My Favorite Way to De-Stress

Running in the Arb.
