Margaret C. Hannon, ’05, is assistant dean for admissions at the University of Michigan Law School, where she directs all aspects of JD and LLM admissions. 

Prior to serving as assistant dean, Hannon taught legal research, writing, and reasoning in Michigan Law’s Legal Practice program for 13 years. Hannon previously taught at Northwestern Law School, where she also served as the assistant director and interim director of the legal research and writing program. In recognition of her teaching, Hannon received Michigan Law’s inaugural faculty award for Legal Practice Teaching and Northwestern’s Dean’s Teaching Award and Dean’s Teaching Award Honorable Mention. 

Hannon earned a BA, cum laude, in philosophy, politics, and law, and music (dual degree) from Binghamton University and a JD from Michigan Law. In law school, she served as a note editor for the Michigan Law Review and as a Senior Judge for the Legal Practice Program. After graduating from Michigan Law, she practiced law at Bell, Boyd & Lloyd LLP (now K&L Gates LLP). Her practice focused on labor and employment counseling and litigation, and the negotiation and administration of collective bargaining agreements.
