My Time at Michigan Law

Why I Chose Michigan Law

The Michigan alumni I met were really warm and friendly. They were super passionate about Michigan, which made me feel like part of a family. Living in the Lawyers Club (which looks like a castle) is amazing. It’s so convenient to get to classes, meals, and the library in just two minutes!

What Surprised Me Most About Michigan Law

The Law School provides multiple one-on-one memo revision sessions.

My Favorite Classes

Introduction to Constitutional Law and American Legal Process and Jurisdiction and Choice of Law.

The Most Difficult Thing About the LLM Year

Tons of reading–way more than back in China!

What Makes Michigan Law Special

The small class teaching style allows LLM students to get individual attention, especially in seminars and upper-class courses. If you actively participate in classes, you will have great interactions with JD students.

The Best Thing About Ann Arbor

The strong sports vibe, especially for football games. I also love the nature around the Law School; there are lots of cool hiking spots for weekends and holidays.

If I Could Time Travel, I Would Give Myself This Advice at the Start of My LLM Year

Don’t just focus on studying. Spend more time with LLM classmates and JD students who share similar interests.

Fun Stuff

When I’m Not Studying

I’m participating in the Law School’s dance society, attending yoga classes, and watching all kinds of ball games.
