Knox has advised on a wide range of corporate and securities transactions, including venture capital and private equity investments and divestitures, primary and secondary securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, and other corporate finance matters. He has counseled management teams and boards of directors on a broad array of corporate governance, control and restructuring matters.
His expertise in technology and sourcing matters includes the structuring and negotiation of cloud, SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS agreements; AI/ML agreements and processes; technology and software license agreements; data licensing, storage, and processing agreements; engineering, manufacturing, production, supply, and logistics agreements; distribution, reseller, dealer, and marketing agreements; teaming, joint venture, and collaboration agreements; and enterprise outsourcing, realignment, and optimization transactions.
Knox is listed as a Band 1 Leading Individual by the independent international rating firm Chambers & Partners. He was named to the Legal 500 Private Practice Powerlist for M&A in the US in 2023 and 2024. He is rated AV (Preeminent) by Martindale Hubbell, was named Washington’s Top Corporate Finance Lawyer by the Washington Business Journal, and is consistently named to Legal 500 US, Washington DC Super Lawyers, and Best Lawyers lists.
He has served as an adjunct professor at the Georgetown University Law Center and as a guest lecturer at Johns Hopkins University, the University of Maryland, and Middlebury College. He has served as a member of Middlebury College’s board of trustees and currently sits on the board of directors of the Business Council for International Understanding.
