Ryan Watkins advises JD students on all aspects of career planning, particularly in relation to employment in the private sector.

Ryan is a native Michigander and a triple-Wolverine (BA ‘05, MPP ‘13, JD ‘13). Prior to joining OCP, he was a senior associate at a litigation boutique in Houston, Texas and a business litigation associate at Foley & Lardner LLP in Detroit, Michigan. He was also very active in both firm’s pro bono practices and attorney recruiting and training programs. Prior to attending Michigan Law, Ryan worked as a high school teacher in Chicago Public Schools; an organizer in Chicago and Charlotte, North Carolina; and a policy staffer in Washington D.C.

When not counseling law students, he is probably trying to keep up with his two daughters, Sammy (4) and Ellie (2), or his two dachshunds, Harvey (12) and Chloe (8).
