Norman C. Ankers is an adjunct professor at the University of Michigan Law School and a litigation partner in the Detroit office of Foley & Lardner LLP. He has practiced business law and tried complex commercial cases for more than 40 years and is an accomplished appellate lawyer.

He has been a member of the Michigan Law faculty since 2012 and teaches Conflict of Laws, the Law of Evidentiary Privilege, Anatomy of a Commercial Trial, and Electronic and Class Action Discovery.

In 2005, Ankers became a member of the adjunct faculty of the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, where he has taught Conflict of Laws, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and Evidence, and was named the Outstanding Adjunct Professor for the fall 2006 term. Among other publications, he is the co-author of the multivolume Michigan Court Rules Annotated—Evidence (West Publishing Company, 1996).
