Student pursues independent research project under faculty supervision.
JD Program
Second and third year students (including summer starters in their third term) with an honor point average of at least 2.0 may enroll for 1 to 3 credits of independent research under any member of the Law School faculty who is willing to supervise such work. The credit to be given, as well as the scope and subject matter of the project, will normally be determined by the faculty member who undertakes to supervise and grade the student’s research. If more than 3 credits is to be given for the project, both the project and the completed product must be approved by a committee of three faculty members, one of whom must be the faculty member responsible for supervising the research. A student may not offer more than a total of 6 credits earned for independent research in satisfaction of the requirements for the JD degree.
