Jay Eskes, an adjunct professor at the University of Michigan Law School, is the Chief Legal Officer of GM Performance Power Units (GMPPU), part of the Cadillac Formula 1 program dedicated to developing the team’s cutting-edge hybrid and electric powertrains.

Eskes is a pragmatic general counsel with more than 20 years of experience partnering with technology-focused business teams to build and scale innovative businesses. He is recognized for a collaborative approach to problem solving, process innovation, and platform development while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.

Before joining GMPPU, Eskes held senior in-house roles at Amazon, General Motors, and Airbnb. He started his legal career as a corporate associate at WilmerHale after beginning his professional career in investment banking.
