Ali Wright teaches in the Criminal Appellate Practice Clinic at the University of Michigan Law School. He is an assistant defender with the State Appellate Defender Office (SADO), where he represents indigent Michiganders in their appeals from their felony convictions before the Michigan trial courts, court of appeals, and supreme court. 

After law school, Wright spent several years working for AmLaw 100 firms in the Washington, DC, area. 

Directly prior to joining SADO, Wright served as an assistant federal defender with the Federal Community Defender Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, where he represented indigent, death-sentenced offenders in their post-conviction habeas proceedings.
