Our Work
Law students who enroll in the Business and Human Rights Lab will engage in a combination of legal, compliance, and systemic reform work.
The legal and compliance work focuses on understanding current and prospective human rights due diligence-aligned legislation and developing tools for use by companies to comply with these regulations.
The reform work focuses on creating change at the policy, service, and industry levels through collaborative partnerships across the nonprofit, corporate, and government sectors.

If you join the Business and Human Rights Lab, you will learn and practice collaboration, problem solving, and corporate client risk assessment and advisory skills. You will be responsible, under supervision, for all of the cases and projects within the Business and Human Rights Lab, and you’ll work side-by-side with students in the Human Trafficking Clinic to develop and execute your projects.
The Business and Human Rights Lab is a year-long commitment. Students earn seven credits in the Fall Term and four credits in the Winter Term.
The Business and Human Rights Lab meets the New York pro bono requirement.
