Mar­vin Reed was wrong­ful­ly con­vict­ed in 2001, along with his nephew, Deshawn Reed, for shoot­ing a man in Ecorse, MI. 

Their con­vic­tions were thrown out and the charges dis­missed after it was dis­cov­ered that anoth­er man had con­fessed to the crime, and actu­al­ly pos­sessed the gun that was matched to this crime. 

Deshawn and Mar­vin were the first two clients exon­er­at­ed by the Michi­gan Inno­cence Clinic.
