Joe Lawson is the assistant director for public services at the University of Michigan Law Library. 

Lawson manages the library’s reference and research services. Previously, he served as director of the Harris County Robert W. Hainsworth Law Library in Houston,  where he oversaw research and reference services for self-represented litigants, legal professionals, the judiciary, and government officials for the nation’s third-most populous county.

Lawson’s research interests include legal technology and access to justice. He is a member of the Indiana Bar (inactive), the American Association of Law Libraries, and the Michigan Association of Law Libraries.
