David Willbrand, a lecturer in the University of Michigan Law School, has a passion for spreading his combined knowledge of law and the startup environment with others.

He teaches at many other institutions, including the Ohio State University, Syracuse University, and University of Cincinnati Colleges of Law. His courses include Mergers and Acquisitions and Startups, Venture Capital, and Private Equity.

In his personal work, Willbrand is the first chief legal officer of Pacaso Inc., the fastest company to reach “unicorn” status. Before joining Pacaso, he founded, grew, and chaired one of the most prominent startup and venture capital legal practices in the Midwest.

He’s the author of “Seed Deals: How to Grow from Startup to Venture Capital,” and he also serves as an entrepreneur-in-residence at Miami University.
