Brent Winslow, ’18, is a clinical lecturer at the University of Michigan Law School. He teaches legal practice.
Winslow practiced law at Bush Seyferth PLLC in Troy, Michigan, and Winston & Strawn LLP (now Winston Taylor) in Chicago. His practice primarily focused on critical motions and appeals, including providing embedded appellate counsel support to trial teams. He has also assisted clients at every stage of litigation, from drafting pleadings to conducting discovery. During his time in private practice, Winslow maintained an active pro bono practice and assisted several pro bono clients in civil habeas corpus and criminal appeals in federal court.
Before private practice, Winslow clerked for the Hon. Joan L. Larsen of the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, the Hon. Stephanie Dawkins Davis of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan (now US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit), and the Hon. Elizabeth T. Clement of the Michigan Supreme Court.
