What is a “public interest law firm”? There are many different descriptions, but generally speaking, these firms work on matters that have broad social, political, or economic impact. Practice areas include: antitrust; civil rights and prisoners’ rights; consumer, mass torts, medical malpractice, personal injury, and product liability issues; disability; economic development; employment; energy, environment, land use, and real estate issues; labor / union representation; municipal (including representation and assistance to state and local governments); privacy; securities; tribal; whistleblower.
On April 8, from 12 – 1, come meet with lawyers from public interest law firms. The lawyers will give a brief synopsis of their work, and then you’ll have a chance to mingle and ask questions about their firms and the matters they handle.
