Gift of Life Marrow Registry will be at the University of Michigan Law School on Wednesday, October 7th from 11:00 AM–2:00 PM, giving students the opportunity to learn more about the marrow and stem cell registry and potentially join.
Gift of Life is a nonprofit marrow and stem cell registry that helps connect volunteer donors with patients battling blood cancers and other diseases, including leukemia, lymphoma, and sickle cell disease. Patients in need of a transplant rely on finding a genetically matched donor, and adding more potential donors to the registry helps increase the chances of patients finding their lifesaving match.
Joining the registry is quick and easy and involves completing a registration form and swabbing the inside of your cheeks. If you are ever identified as a potential match for a patient, Gift of Life will contact you and provide additional information about the donation process and next steps.
Stop by our table on October 7th between 11:00 AM–2:00 PM to learn more, ask questions, and find out if you are eligible to join the registry. A few minutes of your time could give hope to someone searching for their lifesaving match!
