Desmond Ricks was wrongfully convicted of murder in Detroit in 1992. His case involved unprecedented misconduct by the Detroit Police, who were shown to have fabricated ballistics evidence in order to frame him. Desmond was exonerated in 2017 after the prosecution joined the Innocence Clinic’s motion to vacate his convictions and later dismissed all charges.
