Deshawn Reed was wrongfully convicted in 2001, along with his uncle, Marvin Reed, for shooting a man in Ecorse, MI

Their convictions were thrown out and the charges dismissed after it was discovered that another man had confessed to the crime, and actually possessed the gun that was matched to this crime. 

Deshawn and Marvin were the first two clients exonerated by the Michigan Innocence Clinic.
