This course is designed to give students the basic elements of the Russian legal system. This course underlines the differences and similarities between the U.S. and Russian legal systems and covers the fundamental structure of the law and current legal developments, such as the 1993 Constitution, judicial reform, human rights law, civil law reform, changes in civil procedure and private international law. Special emphasis will also be placed on legal problems of entities doing business or investing in Russia.
