What would it take to tackle racial inequality in America? In this course, we will explore the role of law, policy, and social movements in creating — and sustaining — change, with a particular focus on education, voting rights, and criminal justice. Among the questions we will consider: What are the “ingredients” for successful and sustained change in law and policy? Why do movements succeed or fail? What is the role of leadership? Is meaningful progress possible?
