Education is a gateway to opportunity. And yet, too many public schools in the U.S. fall short of providing a quality education due to institutional barriers of race, socioeconomic status, language, and disability. A lack of adequate funding in lower-income school districts also limits access to educational resources. The question at the heart of the course is how “we” might create an educational ecosystem that better serves all students. Guest lecturers who specialize in education law and policy will be invited to participate in class discussions.
