This course covers a variety of legal issues relating to the efforts of community-based organizations in low-income neighborhoods to undertake economic development activity. The course is recommended for students interested in learning how the legal skills of the corporate lawyer have been deployed in the service of low-income communities. It emphasizes both nonprofit corporate law and the law of tax-exempt organizations.
