Commercial Transactions course is devoted to the study of problems arising in commercial settings, including payment systems, security interests, and bankruptcy. Principal emphasis is on those articles of the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) that deal with secured transactions and commercial paper — Articles 3, 4, 4A, 5 and 9. The first three to four weeks of the course will be devoted to payment systems and the remaining weeks to secured transactions (including the interaction between security interests and bankruptcy law).
