Saving a spot
The New York Times has run an interesting article about a commendable life turnaround. The part that really grabbed my attention was this: “Richard Friedman, a law professor at the University of Michigan who worked with Mr. Hopwood on the briefs for a recent Supreme Court case, said that he had already talked to the admissions office there about saving a spot.”
It is true that Professor Friedman has praised Mr. Hopwood to me. On the other hand, since Friedman isn’t on the faculty admissions committee, his views are orthogonal to the admissions process.
