Happy Valentine’s Day, indeed

This Wednesday brought a lovely end-of-the-day surprise.   One way our students raise money for Student Funded Fellowships is through sending Val-o-Grams around the school—pay a price and on one day in February, our excellent a cappella Headnotes will tour the facilities to sing to the fellow student, faculty member, or administrator of your choice.  This year, the day was Wednesday.

As it happens, Wednesdays are my big application-reading day; although I read some applications virtually every day, Wednesday is the day when I go into seclusion and bury myself with massive numbers.  By the end of the day, I’m stiff and somewhat addled and full of paper cuts.  But this Wednesday, I got a mid-afternoon reprieve from a coworker who called and told me I really needed to wrap up early and come back to the office.  And am I glad she did.  Thanks to the 1L who sent it—what a clever decision it was to admit you!
