This mini-seminar gives you a chance to tour local art museums and learn what lawyers share not just with the artists whose work appears in the museums but with the professional curators in charge of skillfully putting that work on display. We'll talk about storytelling, perspective-taking, and a whole bunch of other skills that lie at the heart of both art and advocacy. But the best part is that we'll get to have these conversations in the company of a wide range of wonderful paintings, sculptures, installations, and other forms of creative expression. If you're looking to invest in your imagination this semester, “Art and Advocacy” could be a great curricular fit. (Note: At least one of our sessions—probably the final one—will be held at the Detroit Institute of Art.)
