Whether serving your organization at the top as general counsel or managing partner or in the middle as the lead attorney on a case or a deal, you will likely find yourself in a professional leadership position someday. Today’s world demands brave, thoughtful leaders with diverse backgrounds and experiences. As a Michigan Law student, you have the intelligence and ambition to be a great leader, but other leadership qualities must be developed and honed. This skills-based class will be an introduction to becoming an effective, empathetic, and authentic leader, with attention to overcoming obstacles related to race, ethnicity, gender, and sexual orientation. Students will combat impostor syndrome, build a leadership toolkit and develop their own personal roadmap to being the best leader they can be.
