Joel Friedlander is an adjunct professor at Michigan Law and a founding partner of Friedlander & Gorris, PA, a litigation boutique recognized by Benchmark Litigation as Delaware Firm of the Year for 2015 and 2017.  

The 2017 and 2020 editions of The Best Lawyers in America recognized Friedlander as Lawyer of the Year for Litigation – Mergers and Acquisitions in Wilmington, Delaware, and the 2022 edition recognized him as Lawyer of the Year for Bet-the-Company Litigation in Wilmington, Delaware. He has been profiled in The Wall Street Journal and named Litigator of the Week in The Am Law Litigation Daily.  The current edition of Chambers USA states: “He’s a legend in the plaintiff Chancery Bar.

Friedlander  is a member of the Board of Advisors of the University of Pennsylvania Institute of Law and Economics. A lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, he previously was a lecturer at Harvard Law School. He is an adviser to the American Law Institute, Restatement of the Law, Corporate Governance, and the author of nine law review articles.
