Why is Reunion Being Held on a Weekend Without a Home Football Game?
The 2025 Reunion will be held on an away game weekend to address the logistical challenges and costs associated with returning to Ann Arbor during home game weekends. The availability and cost of hotel rooms in Ann Arbor during home football games has steadily increased over the years, and area hotels regularly top $1,000+ per night on football weekends. Additionally, in recent years the Law School has faced difficulty in arranging blocks of hotel rooms, securing space for Reunion events, and guaranteeing an ample supply of football tickets, all of which contribute to increased costs and other challenges for returning alumni.
After surveying alumni from this year’s Reunion classes, the decision was made to hold Reunion during an away game weekend to eliminate the barriers that made it difficult for many alumni to attend their Reunion. In addition to making Reunion more accessible, this change will also allow the Law School to host all attendees during one weekend, rather than dividing the celebrating classes across two weekends.
It won’t be a football-free weekend, however: there will be a special luncheon in the Jack Roth Suite at Michigan Stadium at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, which will include access to the field and an opportunity to tour the locker room.
-
Will There Be a Watch Part for the Football Game?
The game against the University of Oklahoma Sooners is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff on Saturday, September 6. While the Law School is not presenting a watch party as part of the formal Reunion schedule, the Reunion team can assist interested classes in organizing watch parties on their own at locations in Ann Arbor. Please contact [email protected] for further information.
-

Michigan Law Connect Class Groups
We are pleased to offer online groups for each Reunion class on Michigan Law Connect (MLC), an interactive platform built specifically for the Michigan Law community. These private class groups offer a place where you can connect with classmates, start a discussion, and build excitement for Reunion. Class groups include resources such as your 1L face book, a full class list, and more.
All Michigan Law alumni are encouraged to set up their profile on MLC if they have not yet done so; follow the link on this page to get started. Once your profile has been activated, click on “Groups” in the upper navigation bar to find your Reunion class group.

Will Photos Be Taken at Reunion?
We will take a group class photo at the luncheon on Saturday at Michigan Stadium. A Law School photographer also will be taking candid photos at a selection of other events over the course of the weekend. Attendance at Reunion is an acknowledgement that your image and/or images of your guest(s) may be used in future Law School communications (print, digital, and/or on our website). Should you wish to opt out of photographs or not have your children photographed, please alert the photographer and/or Law School staff.

Are Children 12 and Under Allowed to Attend?
Yes! We encourage alumni to bring their families to Reunion.
-
Will There be Activities for Children 12 and Under?
While our Reunions primarily feature social events, intellectual programming, and experiences that appeal to adults, we welcome children of alumni to attend all programs. Please check the schedule for more information.
-
Will Childcare Resources Be Available?
Michigan Law is not able to provide childcare services or make specific recommendations for providers. There are, however, many reputable third-party childcare services available in the Ann Arbor area.
-
What if I Need to Cancel?
Our cancellation/refund deadline is Wednesday, August 20. We will fully refund cancellations before the deadline; if you need to cancel after the deadline, please contact [email protected].
-
What if the Law School (or University) Has to Cancel the Reunion?
If the University or the Law School determines that the Reunion must be canceled due to circumstances beyond our control, we will give refunds to all registered guests. All hotel and travel cancellations are the responsibility of the alumni/guest and should be made with the vendor directly.
-
Do I Need to Register for Each Individual Event?
We require registration for all events with an associated cost to attend.
-
Are Discounts Available?
Yes! Alumni working in public interest law—this includes government, K–12 and higher education, and other nonprofit organizations—as well emeritus alumni get 20 percent off of all paid Reunion events. Members of the class of 2020 will receive a 30 percent discount. Questions? Please contact the events line at 734.615.4535 or via email at [email protected]
-
What goes into a Reunion event registration fee? Are registration fees subsidized by the Law School?
We charge registration fees for events that include food and beverage. In order to produce these events, the Law School incurs rental fees for off-Quad venues and equipment (tables, chairs, linens), server gratuity, and the cost of the food and beverage. All of these costs contribute to the total per-person registration fee.
To help make these events more affordable for alumni, the Law School generally subsidizes 25-30% of the actual costs. The registration fee that alumni pay does not cover the total cost to produce the event.
