Greetings from Michigan Law

Dear friends and fellow members of Michigan Law’s Black community,

It is with great enthusiasm that we invite you to come home to Ann Arbor and join us for Michigan Law’s next Black Alumni Reunion, March 20–22, 2026. We encourage you to book your travel arrangements and make plans to join us in the Law Quad.

This event is an opportunity to come together in fellowship with our community and in service to the next generation of Black lawyers at Michigan Law. The Reunion will coincide with the annual Butch Carpenter Scholarship Gala and Preview Weekend for admitted students. Having these events on the same weekend provides a unique opportunity for Black alumni to support the Black Law Students Association, while also helping with the recruitment and matriculation of Black students at the Law School.

Our Reunions celebrate the legacy, history, and contributions of Black alumni at the Law School; fittingly, they are serious and substantive, but they are also joyful. We will complement programming about critical issues facing society and the legal profession with ample time to socialize and strengthen the bonds within our community. We will support, learn from, and celebrate one another, and help promote the success of Black students at Michigan Law.

We hope you will join us in the Law Quad in March.

Sincerely,

Marty Dunn, ’84
Charles Lowery, ’79
Leslie Overton, ’94
Travis Townsend, ’03
Ena Weathers, ’88
