Frequently Asked Questions

  • Who is Invited to the Fall 2024 Reunion?

This Reunion will celebrate the classes of  ’94, ’89, ’84, ’79, ’74, and emeritus alumni who graduated more than 50 years ago.

  • Are International Alumni Allowed to Attend?

Yes! Alumni and guests arriving from international locations are more than welcome to attend Reunion.

  • Are LLM and SJD Recipients Invited to Reunion?

Yes! LLM and SJD graduates are invited to Reunion for their five-year milestones, just like JD alumni. LLM and SJD graduates are also welcome to attend the Reunion of the 1L class that they started with at Michigan Law, as many SJD and LLM candidates forge strong ties with the JD class that started at the same time.

  • When Can I Register for Reunion?

Registration opens in June and closes August 21, 2024, at noon (EDT). Please note that we will not offer on-site (walk-in) registration during Reunion.

  • How Do I Purchase Football Tickets?

A link to purchase football tickets will be emailed to Reunion registrants after they have completed their registration. Tickets are limited and will be available on a first come, first served basis while supplies last or until the purchase deadline of August 9.

Due to a limited supply of tickets provided to the Law School by Michigan Athletics, alumni celebrating their Reunion can order a maximum of two tickets within the Law School’s block of seats while supplies last; any additional purchases by a single alumni will be reversed and refunded.

We will assign seats by class year. If you would like to purchase additional tickets near the Law School’s seats, look for tickets near section 14, rows 31–39, and section 15, rows 33–34.

Please note that only Reunion attendees who have paid for other Reunion events may purchase football tickets. Your registration fees must be paid in full before Athletics will issue tickets electronically.

  • Will Photos Be Taken at Reunion?

We will take a group class photo at the Friday night class dinner. A Law School photographer also will be taking candid photos at a selection of other events over the course of the weekend. Attendance at Reunion is an acknowledgement that your image and/or images of your guest(s) may be used in future Law School communications (print, digital, and/or on our website). Should you wish to opt out of photographs or not have your children photographed, please alert the photographer and/or Law School staff.

  • What Is the COVID-19 Policy for Reunion?

The University of Michigan resumed its vibrant campus experience during recent terms, supported by the high vaccination rate of the campus community. By attending the Reunion you accept the inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19. You also agree that you will not attend any Reunion events if you are sick or have been exposed to someone who is sick with COVID-19 or otherwise. Reunion attendees will not be asked to show proof of vaccination. Masks are optional and we are a mask-friendly campus.

  • Will Children 12 and Under Be Allowed to Attend?

Yes! We encourage alumni to bring their families to Reunion.

  • Will There be Activities for Children 12 and Under?

While our Reunions primarily feature social events, intellectual programming, and experiences that appeal to adults, we welcome children of alumni to attend all programs. Please check the schedule for more information.

  • Will Childcare Resources Be Available?

Michigan Law is not able to provide childcare services or make specific recommendations for providers. There are, however, many reputable third-party childcare services available in the Ann Arbor area.

  • What if I Need to Cancel?

Our cancellation/refund deadline is August 21. We will fully refund cancellations before the deadline; if you need to cancel after the deadline, please contact [email protected].

  • Do I Need to Register for Each Individual Event?

We require registration for all events with an associated cost to attend.

  • Are Discounts Available?

Yes! Alumni working in public interest law—this includes government, K–12 and higher education, and other nonprofit organizations—as well as emeritus alumni who graduated more than 50 years ago, get 20 percent off of all paid Reunion events. • Parking and Transportation

Parking downtown can be challenging during peak periods. However, the hotels provide ample parking. For your convenience, we will provide a bus to and from the football game on Saturday. This bus will pick alumni up at the Monroe Street entrance to Hutchins Hall. After the game, it will take alumni to the Law School.

Metered street parking is $2.40/hour, payable with credit card, coin, or by downloading the eparkA2 smartphone app (Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m.–6 p.m.). Most of the street parking surrounding the Law School are now ePark meter spaces. Uber and Lyft also operate in the area.

The Ann Arbor Transportation Authority, also known as TheRide, operates the public transportation system for the greater Ann Arbor-Ypsilanti area, with many routes through campus and by the Law School. Single rides are $1.50, day passes are $3.

This is a perfect opportunity for parents (and grandparents) to show their kids (and grandkids) some of the things they love about the Law School and Ann Arbor. Of course, kids are NOT required to participate. Reminisce and (re)visit your favorite places around the Law School and Ann Arbor. We will offer a checklist of the scavenger hunt items at Reunion Registration.
