Biggest Hesitation about Law School
Putting aside my existing career in journalism to pursue a brand-new career in law.
Why I Chose Michigan Law
The top-tier education, combined with the friendliness of the other students, allowed me to feel that I would always have supportive friends and useful connections in my career after law school.
My Time at Michigan Law
The Best Thing about Michigan Law
Being surrounded by other students, from all walks of life, who challenge you intellectually.
What “The Michigan Difference” Means to Me
Everyone is willing to help each other, even when we disagree on politics or in class; we all recognize that we are in this together.
What Surprised Me Most About Michigan Law
How many different opportunities there are to join clubs, extracurricular activities, and pursue interests. There seems to be a group for nearly every interest… and if there isn’t yet, you can start one!
What I Like Least about Law School
If you’re not careful, it’s easy to stay within the law school campus and never explore Ann Arbor more broadly. You definitely need to push yourself to leave the campus sometimes.
My Law School Extracurricular Activities
Rather than joining many clubs, I’ve enjoyed more impromptu activities with other students, like playing tennis, exploring new restaurants, or even boxing.
My Favorite Study Spot
While the Reading Room within the Law Library is beautiful, I prefer my room in the Lawyer’s Club, because I can set up my study environment exactly how I like it.
The Best Thing about Ann Arbor
There are great restaurants and bookstores within walking distance from campus. And you’re never more than five minutes from a coffee shop.
Fun Stuff
My Favorite Way to De-stress
Playing board games with other students on a Friday night.
Favorite Book
Escape from Kathmandu by Kim Stanley Robinson.
Favorite Movie
Rango (I think Johnny Depp makes a great lizard).

The Simpsons.
Favorite Podcast
History That Doesn’t Suck!
