Third-year students may apply for the Victor’s Fellowship in early March. Up to three Fellows are selected through a competitive process that considers factors including the applicant's demonstrated commitment to public service and the nature and quality of the proposed fellowship.
As part of the application process, students must identify a host organization that has agreed to take on a fellow, or otherwise describe their professional interests and identify potential host organizations or specific opportunities they are pursuing. Applicants do not need to have secured a host organization prior to being awarded the Victor’s Fellowship, but awards will only be paid provided the applicant has successfully secured work with a host organization as outlined in their application. Note: because some selected fellows may not secure opportunities as outlined in their applications, alternate Fellows may be designated as well.
For questions regarding the Victor’s Fellowship, please contact the Public Interest Director in the Office of Career Planning or email lawcareers@umich.edu.
