Tina Pryor is the HR Director for the University of Michigan Law School. She is an HR leader, consultant, and coach who manages HR policies, procedures, programs, and issues with tact, diplomacy, and an unfailing sense of humor. She leads the Law School’s recruitment and onboarding of staff and staff enrichment, reporting to Michele Frasier Wing, Chief Operating Officer.

With more than 20 years of experience, Tina is known for her servant-transformational leadership style and passion for organizational development, DEI, and promoting a positive, inclusive, and engaged workplace. She is passionate about her role as a strategic business partner, facilitator for change, chief people problem solver, and leader in advocating best-people practices. 

 Her broad experience at the University of Michigan includes organizational restructures, administering collective bargaining agreements, and managing the complete talent management cycle. 

 As a champion for HR, Tina leads staff engagement initiatives and events that promote a diverse, inclusive and positive work culture. She is a recipient of several awards, including the 2016 U-M Distinguished Diversity Leadership Award for her commitment and dedication to diversity. 

She left U-M in 2018 and moved to Florida, where she completed and published her book, ‘You’ve Got Talent! Tap Into It.’ She also established an HR consultancy and served for a little over a year as the HR Director for Nova Southeastern University’s College of Dental Medicine before returning to Michigan in 2022 to join Michigan Law.

Tina is a native Detroiter, but she spent her adult life in the Ypsilanti-Ann Arbor area. She has three adult children and enjoys spending time with family, writing, journaling, binging on Netflix suspense shows, planting flowers, going to the beach, attending festivals, listening to music (various genres), and making short inspirational and informational videos.
