The Hon. Goran Selanec, Justice on the Constitutional Court of Croatia and Michigan Law Alumnus, will lead a discussion on the recent decision of the European Union to bring an action in the European Court of Justice against Poland. The discussion will involve the allegations against Poland and its Constitutional Court as well as the history of legislative and executive interference in Poland which has led to questions of judicial independence and rule of law. We will also consider the future of the primacy of EU law and attacks on judicial independence in other EU countries.
