Please join the Michigan Immigration Law Collaborative for a lunch talk with Rebeca Ontiveros-Chavez of the Michigan Immigrants Rights Center. Ms. Ontiveros-Chavez serves unaccompanied children who entered the U.S. and are detained in federal custody in facilities contracted by the Office of Refugee Resettlement or who have been released to sponsors in Michigan. She will describe the systems, processes, and remedies that are relevant to unaccompanied children and discuss some of the common challenges (legal and otherwise) in representing this population. Lunch will be served.
